Shopping services are enjoying an increase in popularity. Consumers no longer have to go through the supermarket or lift heavy groceries up the stairs: supermarkets will sometimes even deliver into the kitchen. However, when food products are on the road for a while while they are normally in the refrigerator, the quality deteriorates. In order not to be dependent on refrigerated vans, cooling elements in combination with insulated packaging are a frequently used cooling solutions by supermarkets.
Sustainable solution: the EPP cool box with cooling elements
The EPP box is an insulating cool box made of Expanded Poly Propylene: a 100% recyclable material. The material has a high insulation value, is light in weight and extremely strong. This guarantees a long service life. Moreover, EPP boxes are practical to use: they are easy to stack, light to move and easy to clean and disinfect. Handles and sticker fields are also characteristic of the box.
How do you put the EPP cool box with cooling elements into concrete use? You pre-cool the matching cooling plates to a desired temperature. With this you cover the walls and bottom of the cool box, and after placing the products also the top. Now you can transport your fresh products cooled or frozen, for example for transports of up to 24 hours.
Shipping chilled or frozen? Tailored advice
Some products must be frozen to maintain quality, other products must be kept chilled at 2 to 8 degrees. At Coolpack we offer many options for cooling to specific temperature ranges. Thanks to new innovations on our side, we achieve temperature ranges down to -21 degrees Celsius using Phase Change Material.

Coolpack's own manufactured eutectic gastronorm cooling plates or freezer plates are available from 0ºC to -21ºC. The cooling plates are perfect for use in coolers or refrigerated containers.

Coolpack’s products are an indispensable link when it comes to thermal packaging, also known as thermal packaging. Binnen de gevalideerde thermal packaging verpakkingsoplossing worden met name koelelementen gebruikt. Met de juiste buitenverpakking kan voor een lange periode een zeer stabiele temperatuur worden aangehouden, namelijk tot een periode van 120 uur.
Om dit te realiseren kunnen de koelelementen worden gevuld met Phase Change Material (PCM). Door de hoge kwaliteit van deze vulling is het mogelijk stabiele temperaturen te behalen binnen een temperatuurrange van -65 tot +42 graden.
Indien de voorkeur uitgaat naar een flexibeler koelmiddel kunnen onze diepgevroren gelpacks ook worden ingezet om de te verzenden producten op temperatuur te houden. The gel packs can also be filled with PCM to maintain very stable temperatures for a long period.
