Features and applications of gel packs

Our gel packs help to maintain a stable temperature, which is particularly important in the food, medical and floral industries.

Food industry: When transporting products such as meat, fish and AGF, constant refrigeration is crucial to prevent spoilage. Gel packs offer good protection against temperature fluctuations and ensure that these products retain their freshness. For this application, our gel packs are ideal.

Medical Sector: In the medical sector, gel packs are often used to transport vaccines, blood and other pharmaceutical products that cannot withstand temperature fluctuations. Our gel packs provide a stable and safe solution to safely transport these critical medical products.

Flower industry: Flowers require a stable temperature if they are to remain fresh during transport. In this case, the gel packs ensure a constant temperature so that the flowers arrive at their destination in perfect condition.

In addition to the traditional use of Coolpack’s gel packs for cooling transport, they can also be used for certain medical or physical applications. For example, our gel cool packs are also commonly used to treat injuries and muscle pain. The gel packs can be used either chilled or heated, depending on what is needed. For example, consider using cold packs to treat an acute injury or warm packs to relieve stiff muscles and chronic pain. Our gel packs are high quality and are reusable. Pharmaceutical companies often use our gel packs to transport their products.

Coolpack supplies a wide range of gel packs. All our products are of excellent quality and leak-proof, and you are always assured of fast delivery. Whether you need standard products from our extensive stock or customized solutions for specific transport needs: Coolpack always has a good solution! Our gel packs are available in various sizes and shapes.

Frequently asked questions about Coolpacks

What is the difference between a gel pack, a gel cool pack and a gel pack ice pack?

A gel pack is primarily used for refrigerated or conditioned transport of products such as food and medical products. A gel cool pack or gel pack ice pack, on the other hand, is more often used for physical applications such as pain relief, injury treatment and muscle recovery. Gel cool packs can be used as cold compresses and as a warm compress, depending on what is needed. Gel pack ice packs are mainly used as cold therapy for acute injuries.

Yes, Coolpack’s reusable gel packs can be used for cold and heat therapy, for example to treat sports injuries, such as muscle and joint pain, and as bruise relief.

Gel pack ice packs can relieve pain through cooling and are ideal to combat swelling or bruising, for example. However, we recommend not to place the packs directly on the skin, but to put a thin cloth between them to prevent freezing. Gel pack ice packs can be used directly from the freezer.

Gel cool packs are versatile and can be used for both cold and hot therapy. They can relieve muscle pain, promote injury recovery and reduce inflammation. Because of their flexibility, they mold easily to the body and provide long-term pain relief. Warming can be done in hot water or in the microwave if heat therapy is needed, and for cold therapy, place the cool packs in the freezer.

Yes, Coolpack’s gel packs are filled with a non-toxic cooling gel, making direct contact with skin or food safe. This makes them suitable for food and medical applications, as well as for physical pain relief such as muscle recovery. When applied to treat injuries, we do recommend placing a thin cloth between the pack and the skin.

The ideal temperature for ordinary gel packs used for transportation is between 0-8 degrees Celsius. Gel pack ice packs and gel cool packs, on the other hand, are usually frozen or cooled to a lower temperature, depending on the application. For cold therapy, they are cooled to about -18° C against acute pain and swelling. For heat therapy, they can be heated to a comfortable temperature without the risk of burning.

Coolpack supplies a wide range of gel packs for commercial and medical applications, such as pillow packs and tray packs. Our gel packs are available in different sizes and shapes depending on your specific needs. For customized advice, feel free to contact us!
